WEEK 10

The Workies All Chalked Up held onto their top spot in the league table this week but it could have been so different. They allowed The Dovey to come back from being 6-1 down only to loose the final 4 frames and so finish with a 6-5 victory.

Had The Salt ’n’ Asbo’s  not slipped up to a 6-5 defeat to The Barley Mowners they could have been top of the league going into 2025.

The Rifleman’s remain in 4th place following a 7-4 win against The Wessie, taking the final 3 games when the match was level at 4-4.

The Doverdalers ran out 8-3 winners against The Dovey Boys and so remain in 5th position in the table.

Also winning 8-3 The Hop Pole came out on top in the battle of the bottom 2 teams, a result which leaves The Star Dinosaurs propping up the table over Christmas.

The other match to be reported on saw The Doverdale Arms defeat The Workies 7-4 but the result was all in vain because neither team sent in the result of the match before the next day deadline. As a result according to rule 4.6 in our league rules both teams forfeit any points earned for that match.

The draws have now been made for the next round of the Winter & Spring cups and can be viewed on the website under “team competitions” or “upcoming fixtures”

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year.
