WEEK 29

We can now congratulate the Workies All Chalked Up on winning the Droitwich Premier League title following their 8-3 win over The Workies with a depleted team of 4 players. They are now 26 points clear of second placed Salt ’n’ Asbo’s who’s slim chance of catching the league leaders fell by the wayside when they were defeated 8-3 by the Doverdale Arms.

The Doverdalers moved into 3rd place with a convincing 10-1 demolition of The Rifleman’s, who now drop to 6th position in the league table.

The Hop Pole won their 4th match of the season with an 8-3 victory over 4 man Dovey Boys and remain in 9th place, one above the Dovey Boys team.

Star Dinosaurs still prop up the table despite a 6-4 win against The Dovey. With both teams only having 4 players the final doubles game could not be contested.

Next week we have the final round of league matches before we embark on the final stages of our team and player competitions. You will find all the fixtures and venues for these competitions under “upcoming fixtures” on our website.

Any team wishing to take part in our summer league need to register their interest with Martin Maycroft ASAP. The guidelines for this can be found under “summer league” on the website. The only difference to the guidelines is that we hope to be trialing a new app instead of the usual way of recording the match sheet and results.
